Around 200 trees are planted along a green belt on Jalan Raya Bogor, Ciracas, East Jakarta. It is conducted to prevent illegal parking and street vendor.
East Jakarta Forestry Sub-dept. Head, Romi Sidharta said types of trees that planted are tamarind, tanjung, kepel, ketapang and kencana.
"All this time, the land is misused as illegal parking. That's why we controlled them yesterday, and then continued with tree planting to avoid similar case in future," he stated.
Tree planting is done starting from opposite side of a biscuit factory until border of Pasar Rebo sub-district. The plantation itself has involved 50 personnel.
"After being planted, we dig up the land first using an excavator and then dug up for making a hole as deep as 50 cm. Afterwards, trees are planted one by one," he closed.
